Unfortunately, the term "western art" frequently carries the connotation of "cowboy art" associated with Frederick Remington. Although Remington's work captured the raw energy and independent spirit of the early west, his range and media were limited. PacifiCreations.com juries a wide spectrum of visual artists who exploit traditional and new media to express a separation from the classic, Eurocentric motifs and examine their world with a radically fresh vision.

Yes, it's true, we are in the business of selling art. Sales are what makes it possible for artists to create and websites, galleries and dealers to disseminate art. But, unlike other sites, none of our art was created specifically for sale. It is the natural outgrowth of the artists' desire to explore and illuminate their world. Furthermore, our mission is to provide our featured artists with dynamic sales tools at the lowest possible cost. PacifiCreations.com is run as a nonprofit cooperative. All fees and commissions are designed to support the site and its promotion. Any surplus is dedicated to additional site promotion.

We hope you appreciate that many of these original works are priced below the cost of commercial reproductions in department stores. We don't promise that our art will appreciate dramatically. We do promise that the commercial reproductions won't.
